Biologic response modifiers (BRMs), also referred to as biological response modifiers or biologics, represent a class of therapeutic agents that are derived from living organisms or their byproducts. They are designed to modulate the body’s immune response or biological processes to treat a variety of diseases. Unlike traditional medications, which are synthesized chemically, BRMs include proteins, antibodies, cytokines, and other biological molecules that are produced using methods such as recombinant DNA technology or cell cultures.
